Wheel Throwing Classes in Las Vegas
Learn to shape clay on the potter's wheel at Animal House Pottery in North Las Vegas. Our wheel throwing classes welcome complete beginners and experienced potters alike, with single-session drop-ins, multi-week courses, and ladies night sessions available seven days a week.
What Is Wheel Throwing?
Wheel throwing is the art of shaping clay on a rotating potter's wheel. It is one of the most recognized and rewarding forms of pottery, where you use your hands to transform a ball of clay into bowls, cups, vases, and other vessel forms.
At Animal House Pottery, our wheel throwing classes are designed for every skill level. Beginners learn clay preparation, centering, pulling walls, and forming vessels in a single session. Returning students can build on their skills through multi-week courses and intermediate classes that focus on trimming, taller forms, and refined techniques.
All wheel throwing classes include clay, tools, glaze selection, and kiln firing. Your finished pieces are ready for pickup approximately two to three weeks after your class. No prior experience is needed.
